***DOES NOT OFFER DIRECT DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD TO THE PUBLIC*** The Foodbank collects food donations from food industry and community donors year round. Donated and purchased food is distributed to member agencies including: food pantries, feeding programs, shelters, rehabilitation centers and soup kitchens. The Hawaii Foodbank network of member agencies help feed the needy including: children at risk of hunger elderly, low-income individuals and families, homeless, people recovering from substance or domestic abuse, disabled and unemployed. Membership applications are open to all publicly supported 501(c)3 designated organizations. For agency membership contact the Food Partner Network Coordinator at (808) 836-3600 ext. 234. Recruits volunteers for: food sort, clerical work, craft projects and cleaning. Volunteers are also needed for annual fundraising programs: Check-Out Hunger, Hawaii Foodbank Annual Golf Classic, Great Chefs Fight Hunger, Annual Food Drive Day, National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive and the Honolulu City Lights Trolley Tours at Ward Center.
