Hoomau Home Visiting is a program to help parents provide a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for their young children. Hoomau Home Visiting Program "encouraging to carry on" serves families by offering home visits that help parents/caregivers provide a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for their children. Mothers, fathers, and other caregivers on Oahu are encouraged to participate in services. Parent Educators utilize an evidenced-based model to provide home visiting services to address parent child interaction, parent-centered development, and family well-being. Families are referred by Child Welfare Services, Voluntary Case Management (VCM) or Family Strengthening.

Eligibility

Parent Educators work with prenatal families and families with children birth to 5 years old involved with Child Welfare Services. Families are referred to the program by Child Welfare Services (CWS), Voluntary Case Management (VCM), Family Strengthening Services (FSS) or Permanency Support Services (PSS) programs. This is a closed referral system.
