Our Child Protection Center (CPC) is the state leader in identifying, treating and helping children and families recover from child abuse. Founded in 1969 in collaboration with the State of Hawaii, the CPC has been helping Hawaii’s children for over 45 years. We take a multidisciplinary approach to care and prevention, treating the child and his or her family. We also educate and train professionals in all disciplines, from doctors and nurses to social workers and law enforcement professionals. Developing Options to Violence (DOV) offers a full spectrum of services to women, men, adolescents, and children in the intervention and prevention of domestic violence. Professional counselors on call to help youth who are in psychiatric crisis or to supplement the efforts of their caregivers. Counselors can refer clients to specialized, short-term, out-of-home placement when needed. The following services are available to families experience domestic violence: Adult Programs - Domestic violence interventions services for individuals who use physical, emotional, psychological and/ or sexual abuse in intimate relationships. - Support groups for individuals who are experience emotional, psychological and/or sexual abuse in intimate relationships. - Violence Control groups for individuals who have use violence towards other family members (parents, siblings) Adolescent Program: To assist adolescents in understanding their behavior and how to make appropriate changes. Children's Group: To help children who have witnessed domestic violence understand it and deal with their feelings about it. Parents are required to participate in support group while children receive services.

Hawaii State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (HSCADV) is a coalition of organizations that serve survivors of domestic violence and their families. We provide education and training on domestic violence to service providers, community partners, and businesses, and develop resource for advocates and the community. We engage in public policy to improve survivor safety. We do not provide domestic violence services directly, but make referrals to appropriate agencies.

Provides education on child abuse and child neglect. Also provides parenting education. Works and provides information and referrals to families in the community.

Provides family strenthening services to families and communities to prevent child abuse and neglect in the Puna District including home visiting, information, advocacy, child development issues, etc. Abuse and neglect risk also includes high absenteeism at school, economic hardships putting families at risk for homelessness, poverty to the point where unable to meet family's basic needs. minors under 18 - prevention program

(FSS, Family Strengthening Service) This program helps families provide a safe home for their children, promote positive parenting, and prevent child abuse and neglect. Families receive free, short-term, home visiting services designed to provide support and help maintain and improve individual and family function by improving parenting skills. The program also provides information and linkages to community resources. Assists families that are referred to us by the Child Welfare Services. Strengthening the family's skills to help them provide a nurturing environment and connects them with community resources.

Prevents child abuse and neglect through public awareness, education and advocacy.

(FPC) The Family Peace Center on Oahu provides Domestic Violence intervention services for offenders, survivors, and child witnesses. Services are provided primarily through group counseling. Short term individual Trama Therapy is also available for victims. Parenting after violence is also available for offenders and survivors. Groups area available after hours in the evening. Dedicated to helping victims of domestic abuse by providing direct legal services to clients, legal information, case management and support services, community education, and advocacy for system reform and other specialized services. (DV Services for Families, DVSF) The Survivor and Children Support Services, (SCSS), focuses on supporting personal healing with families involved in both child welfare and domestic violence. SCSS provides an array of services to help families understand the difference between unhealthy and healthy family dynamics, strengthen parenting skills to include, learning how to better empathize with children's emotions, and become empowered by the use of community referrals. The SCSS Program's goal is to ensure and promote survivor safety and independence, and to strengthen child resilience.

(LISS) A comprehensive program for child abuse and neglect prevention and intervention in a continuum through foster care and permanency placement support. Services include outreach, parenting skills training, counseling, support, referral, supervised visitation, support for foster care placement and adoptive parents. Families at-risk of involvement, or currently involved, with the Child Welfare System are eligible for services. Lanai Integrated Services offer a variety of services with the goal of family preservation and family reunification when safe for the child or children. The Lanai Integrated Support Services System Program provides a variety of services to families who are either at-risk of abuse and/or neglect or are actively involved with CWS. Services include Comprehensive Counseling and Support Services, Voluntary Case Management, Family Strengthening Services, Post Permanency Services and Community Outreach.
