Kumu Kahua means "Original stage" or "Platform". Kumu Kahua is a Playwright's Theatre in the State of Hawaii, providing the local community with 35 years of plays written by local playwrights for the community to attend. The 100 seater black box theatre performs five plays during its Season of Shows. Produces theatre oriented towards Hawaii's people, in their multi-ethnic diversity. Acts as a platform for local writers as well as hands-on operation for local actors, directors and theatre technicians. Offers classes in playwriting and acting. 808 Cleanups mission is to achieve complete ecosystem restoration in Hawaii. Our approach involves community engagement, education, and the removal of invasive species to allow native plants and cultural sites to flourish. We offer educational programs that raise awareness about environmental issues and sustainable practices and organize and lead community events that foster a collective spirit of stewardship and conservation.

Chamber Music Hawaii’s innovative education programs are designed to inspire, engage, and meet the needs of not only our local music directors and students, but all of our community members near and far. Each year, CMH’s three resident ensembles reach over 3,500 students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members on all six major Hawaiian Islands, through the help of generous grant support. Our curated online modules and in-person sessions are flexible and adaptable; our most common clinic formats are: “Chamber Chats” Presentation / Demonstration In this highly requested format, the ensemble members share about their individual instruments, perform musical demonstrations, and engage with the students/audience on certain talking points within the music. Topics covered can include solid tone productions, proper posture, working as a group, etc. This style of clinic allows for a great amount of versatility so that we can present topics relative to those participating. Side-by-side This format highlights the joy and energy of performing music together between artists and students. Each member of the ensemble sits in a specific section in the band or orchestra and plays along with the students. This allows the students to interact with our artists through the music being rehearsed and provides a quick and intense learning environment. It is a highly effective way to teach the students how to communicate through music. Sectional and Individual Coaching Impactful learning is especially effective in one-on-one arrangements. Sometimes a band or orchestra director would like individual artists of the chamber ensemble to help specific instrumental sections work on the music the class is preparing. One-on-one coachings are also offered in cases where a student may need a little extra assistance, or where a student could benefit from more advanced tutoring. Provides teacher study guides for all plays. 6-8 plays produced yearly; 2-4 tour to the neighbor islands. (Community Resource Center for Seniors and Inter-generation) Classes taught by volunteers in Qigong, Tai Chi, Yoga, Hula, Lauhala making, Hanafuda, Lei/Pua Culture, and Hawaiian Lanauge. Youth drop into the space and are given the opportunity to earn a bike by learning how to fix and maintain a bike in addition to volunteering to help maintain the flow of the shop. Each year there are 400 donated bikes that are refurbished by youth and about 4000 bikes are repaired though 9000 youth service hours.

(Prince Lot Hula Festival) Moanalua Gardens Foundation (MGF Hawaii) puts on the Prince Lot Hula Festival every year. Our current programs include our annual Prince Lot Hula Festival held the third Saturday and Sunday in July, our Malama Kamananui Environmental STEM Education Program in Kamananui Valley, our Ka Leo O Na Opio Leadership Academy for youth 13 years old - 24 years old, and our Ka Wai Ola STEM, Clean Water focused, Work-based Learning Program.

(Hooulu Aina and Returning to our Roots) Ho'oulu 'Aina (the Kalihi Valley Nature Preserve) strives to be a "welcoming place of refuge for people of all cultures." KKV sees the 'aina (land) as a vital member of the community, and so we are pleased to offer opportunities for community gardening, reforestation, environmental education and the preservation of land-based cultural knowledge. The Maui Dance Council (MDC) was founded in 1978 and holds the mission to: Enliven the community and the classroom by inspiring, cultivating and supporting the artist in everyone. MDC cultivates the performing and creative arts in Maui County through: the Chance To Dance public school movement arts education program, professional development training for classroom teachers, community classes and Master workshops, and by advocating for the arts locally and nationally.
